global tolerance news: 1 May 2012
“Politicians no longer hold the power to make changes,” John Bunzl said at the Better World Forum. On 29 April John spoke to the Forum’s attendees about Simultaneous Policy (Simpol), a campaign he founded in 2000 to empower citizens to use their votes in an entirely new way to drive their governments to act together to solve global problems.
"People still secretly believe that their politicians have the power to change things and in the global context we are living in now, they don't," John said.
He told the gathering he is worried that things are getting worse and nothing is changing because it has become a vicious circle.
"If we can get all nations to implement these things at the same time, then no nation loses out," he added.
Since last year global tolerance has been acting as an external relations consultancy for the Simpol campaign, launched to re-engage all of us with global politics and policy-making.
