The story of our Board of Advisors
Karen is a former Roman Catholic nun who first came to prominence with her 1993 international bestseller 'A History of God: The 4,000-Year Quest of Judaism, Christianity and Islam'.
A powerful voice for universal religious understanding, Karen used a $100,000 prize given to her by TED in 2008 to call for a Charter for Compassion to be created. This was to be a document around which religious leaders could work together for peace. It was launched in November 2009 and is described as 'the best idea humanity ever had'.
As you'd imagine, Karen positively radiates compassion but this is tempered with warm authority and real leadership qualities which we respect enormously.
